West Coast Leadership Dialogue
The United States and Australia are Pacific neighbours who share the challenge of becoming model societies – great social experiments where cultural diversity is embraced along with democratic values and a market based economy. We share a common and important neighbourhood – the Asia Pacific region. The economic, political, social and security health of the region and the relationship each of our two countries has with the region and with each other are of paramount importance to our future.
The purpose of the West Coast Leadership Dialogue is for Australian and American leaders to explore political, security, commercial and sustainable competitiveness issues and their specific regional implications. American leaders bring a distinctive West Coast perspective to the program – an increasingly important focus of the Leadership Dialogue.
Our co-hosts of the West Coast Leadership Dialogue:

Key to Australia’s ability to sustain high community performance is the capacity and commitment to invest in science, technology, human capital and related areas of human endeavour.
With our colleagues at University of California, San Diego and Stanford, we work together to bring some of the best and brightest from our respective communities to address the next phase of nation building in Australia and the United States.
