Jeff Bleich  is the Chief Legal Officer and Risk Officer at Cruise, a special master  for the United States courts in complex international disputes, and Chair of the Board of PG&E Co.   He previously served as the U.S. Ambassador to Australia from 2009 to 2013, and as Special Counsel to President Obama in the White House.

A specialist in complex dispute resolution, he is regularly listed as one of the United States’ 500 most influential lawyers.  He currently serves on the Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Board (which he chaired worldwide for the past three years).  He was recently  appointed a Professorial Fellow at Flinders University, which has named the Jeff Bleich Centre for the Study of the U.S. Alliance in Digital Technology, Security, and Governance in his honor.

He also serves on the boards of RAND Australia, Stanford University’s Center for the Advanced Study of Behavioral Sciences, the American Security Project, and the East West Center.  Ambassador Bleich previously served as the Chair of the California State University Board of Trustees, President of the California State Bar, and President of the Bar Association of San Francisco.  He clerked for the Chief Justice of the United States Supreme Court as well as for the International Court of Justice.  In 2008, San Francisco named January 8 (Elvis Presley’s’ Birthday), “Jeff Bleich Day” in San Francisco.
