This year the distinguished leader who embodies the AALD definition of leadership in the service of others is Sir Peter Cosgrove. This is the first year the Leadership Dialogue Scholar and Leadership Dialogue Honouree are personified in one leader.
General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK CVO MC (Retd)
His exemplary career of service speaks for itself in active military and diplomatic roles as well as the privilege as Governor General of Australia. His stewardship of the International Force for East Timor (IFET) earned tributes for his sensitive and astute engagement with our neighbours,
notably from Singapore's Lee Kuan Yew. This is an enduring legacy on behalf of a grateful and appreciative nation. We are privileged to have Sir Peter serve on the Board of the Australian American Leadership Dialogue.
