As a physician and surgeon, Dr. Wenstrup spent 27 years treating patients in private practice and serving in the U.S. Army Reserve from 1998 to 2022. He deployed to Iraq as Chief of Surgery for the 344th Combat Support Hospital, 2005-2006, earning the Bronze Star and Combat Action Badge. He was later awarded the Soldier’s Medal for Heroism and the Legion of Merit Medal. He retired with the rank of Colonel.
Dr. Wenstrup represented Ohio’s Second Congressional District for twelve years, serving on the House Ways and Means Committee, House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, and the Armed Services and Veterans’ Affairs Committees. He also served as Co-Chair of the GOP Doctors’ Caucus and Chairman of the Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic. Throughout his time in Congress, he worked to advance patient-centered health care reforms, strengthen national security, and support America’s veterans.
Today, Dr. Wenstrup serves as Executive Director of Americans for Health Excellence, where he works to advance patient-centered solutions that improve health care affordability, access, and innovation. He is the President and CEO of Ubiquitous Strategies Alliance, LLC in addition to serving on the President’s Intelligence Advisory Board and as a nonresident senior fellow at the Hudson Institute.
Brad lives in Cincinnati with his wife, Monica, and their children, Brad Jr. and Sophia.
