In April, thirty bright young leaders took part in the 2024 YLD US Retreat in Washington D.C., an illuminating and rewarding three-day program discussing the challenges and opportunities offered by the Australian-American alliance, including climate change, critical minerals, and defence partnerships and economic engagement in the Indo-Pacific.
The delegates had discussions with diplomatic and policy leaders at the Australian Embassy in the United States, including current Ambassador and Former Prime Minister Kevin Rudd, received lessons on leadership from members of Congress at the Capitol Building, and explored geostrategic challenges and cultural diplomacy in Fireside discussions.
