Fifty outstanding YLD delegates participated in the 2024 YLD AU Retreat in Melbourne in March. The three-day program was robust, creative, and challenging including private, closed-door briefings with parliamentarians on leadership, democracy, and defence in the Victorian Parliament. Delegates also explored pandemic preparedness and public/private partnerships with leaders at the Doherty Institute, challenges of future technologies and cyber security at AARNet’s Security Operations Centre and held debate regarding Australia’s pivotal role in fostering renewable energy alongside its critical mineral capacity.
